The Longer Story…
Stacey Lindsay is a journalist and writer who has spent her career interviewing global thought leaders about making sense of the lives we lead and the lives we seek. She is an editorial director and a senior editor of various digital publications, including Maria Shriver’s Sunday Paper. Known for her endless curiosity and warmth, she has formally interviewed hundreds of public figures, civilians, artists, iconoclasts, veterans, founders, seekers, and visionaries on spirituality, health, wellness equity, pro-aging, civics, societal identity, art, workplace culture, historiography, and more. Some of the giants she has spoken with and profiled include Lisa Ling, Melody Beattie, Norma Kamali, Julie and John Gottman, Phil Stutz, Jeffrey Marsh, Katherine May, Dr. Temple Grandin, Kara Lawson, Vienna Pharaon, Gillian Anderson, Erin Brockovich, Nyjah Huston, Sharon Salzberg, Savannah Guthrie, Dr. Nedra Tawwab, Elin Hilderbrand, Dr. Krishnendu Ray, Richard Engel, Margareta Magnusson, Reese Witherspoon, Julia Turshen, Pico Iyer, Jay Shetty, Anna Quindlen, Melissa Gilbert, Sean Malto, Jodi Picoult, Debbie Gibson, the late Sietze Vanderheide, Jay Nixon, Terry Real, Mitch Albom, Helen LaKelly Hunt, Harville Hendrix, Martha Beck, and Liam Neeson.
Stacey has ghostwritten two books published by major publishing houses, and is at work on her first (Open Field/Penguin Life). She has been the host of various podcasts and is an occasional culture and design writer. She was a longtime editor at goop, where she was instrumental in building new editorial franchises that focused on people pushing forward humanity. Before goop, Stacey served as an evening TV news anchor and reporter in the Four State region. Breaking various stories about humanity, she dived deep into the topics of the veteran healthcare crisis, the disappearance of small-town America, the plight of local factory workers, the rising cost of food, and more. Her Sunday newscast received the highest ratings in the region at the time.
Prior to the news, she worked with the late and legendary James Caan as his associate producer and right hand. For years they traveled the globe for his film and producing projects. To this day, Jimmy is her greatest mentor. She began her career in New York City working for Magnolia Pictures.
Stacey has a B.A. in media studies from Emerson College and an M.A. in journalism from the University of Colorado at Boulder. One of her favorite pre-career moments was interning at WBZ-4 Boston, where she got to work alongside renowned journalist Sharyn Alfonsi. She is an advocate for veterans and held a longtime board member position for Compass Quest Veterans Group.
Originally from the South Shore of Massachusetts, she lives outside of Seattle with her husband, Christian, and their rescue dog, Andi MacHowl (and warm memories of their late rescue, Lucy) and spends her days fascinated by the seemingly smallest things. Being a highly sensitive person is a truth in which she’s found immense clarity in herself and the world.
